History
A proud tradition of quality, service, and support
Spectralux was created in 1973 to fill the growing demands of the Boeing Company. Within a short time, Spectralux grew into an industry leader known for providing exceptional quality lightplates and keyboards to the commercial, business, and military aviation markets.
As Spectralux continued to exceed customer expectations, more complex electronic and control panel assemblies were added to Spectralux’s core competencies. With this success, many customers began to rely on Spectralux for build-to-print programs to improve delivery responsiveness, as well as redesign efforts to increase product quality, performance, and manufacturability.
Our focus on customer success has led Spectralux on a path of continuous improvement in manufacturing, product enhancement, and reliability. In 1992, Spectralux implemented wide-scale use of Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and became the sole supplier of illuminated panels for the 777 - Boeing’s first commercial airliner to incorporate LED backlighting in the cockpit.
As we head into the future, Spectralux continues to influence the changing aviation industry. In 2003, Spectralux certified Dlink+, the first all-in-one solution for VDL Mode-2 ACARS. This product began Spectralux’s evolution into a developer and manufacturer of advanced data communication avionics. To support customers facing upcoming European mandates, Spectralux is currently developing ATN/CPDLC capability for Dlink+.
